Leicester vs Man Utd.
F.A. Cup Soccer/Football Predictions, Tips and Results For Games Played on Sunday 21, March 2021
Leicester Cityโs 5-0 win last time out has them in good shape for their second consecutive appearance in an FA Cup quarter final for the first time since the 1960s. However they havenโt beaten Manchester United in 13 H2Hs (D4, L9), and if theyโre to end that here theyโll surely need to do better than their last FA Cup match which saw all three of Leicesterโs shots on target arrive after the 80th minute!
With seven of their last eight home games witnessing a 2+ goal margin (W5, L3) this game may end up with a large swing either way. However three of the last six here actually saw the team that scored first go on to lose, so a goal before HT – as the โFoxesโ have managed in their last two matches at the King Power Stadium – could be a curse rather than a blessing.
Especially so, as this is a Man United side thatโs won seven of the eight Premier League (PL) away games this season in which they conceded first! A 1-0 win at AC Milan in midweek will have only filled the โRed Devilsโ with more confidence, and extended their unbeaten run across all venues to 14 games (W7, D7).
Within that is five straight away clean sheets (W3, D2), something Man United have also managed in three of their previous four FA Cup road trips (W3, D1), and three of their last five away H2Hs (W3, D2) – three of those five meetings saw the visitors score in both halves.
Players to watch: Kelechi Iheanachoโs 94th minute strike in the last round – his 11th FA Cup goal from 17 appearances – took Leicester to this point. He also netted a hat-trick last time out. Man United will look to Bruno Fernandes for inspiration as heโs scored a second-half strike in both previous H2Hs.
Hot stat: Four of Leicesterโs last six home games featured exactly three yellow cards.
Prediction: Leicester [1] vs [1] Man Utd.
