Getafe vs Atletico Madrid prediction
The last of Saturday’s La Liga ties sees Getafe welcome city neighbours Atletico Madrid to the Coliseum Alfonso Perez, a game that Getafe desperately need to win.
Atletico, who have won their last 13 league games against Getafe without conceding a goal, will be expecting to return to winning ways after their 1-1 draw with eternal rivals Real Madrid last time out.
Getafe
Home side Getafe find themselves just five points away from the drop after a patch of terrible form, with manager Jose Bordalas facing numerous rumours about his job security. Real Valladolid became the latest side to defeat Getafe last time out, with striker Jaime Mata turning from hero to zero as he scored before being acrimoniously sent off in the dying moments. The final score was 2-1.
Mata is suspended for this clash against the leagueโs leaders, with a change in formation the most likely remedy for the situation. Dario Poveda will also miss out through injury.
Atletico Madrid
Real Madrid provided a tricky test for the league leaders last weekend, but Atleti would have escaped with all three points if it wasnโt for Karim Benzemaโs last gasp equaliser. Atleti returned to winning ways in midweek, defeating Basque side Athletic Bilbao 2-1. Luis Suarez maintained his red-hot form in his quest for the Pichichi trophy, scoring his 18th goal of the season.
Only Jose Maria Gimenez will be missing for the away side this weekend.
